Concerts were a triumph!

We would love more people to get involved with creating the South Holland Symphony!

Email Rachel Rowett at rrowett@sholland.gov.uk to sign up now! The project has had a great start with over 15 people of all ages already contributing to the Symphony and participating in the workshops. We now want more local people’s views about our area for composer and sound artist Duncan Chapman to incorporate into the final piece of music which will be played on 19th July at the South Holland Centre by the London Mozart Players.

The next session with Duncan is Saturday 24 March at Surfleet Village Hall at 10am and then in Holbeach Methodist Hall at 2pm.  The next London Mozart Players concerts are on Thursday 22 March at Long Sutton Church and Friday 23 March at Surfleet Church. Tickets for the concerts are available from the South Holland Centre www.southhollandcentre.co.uk

The first two concerts by London Mozart Players at Gosberton and Holbeach Methodist Churches went down well with local audience over the last two evenings. As part of the evening’s programme Composer Duncan Chapman chatted to the the crowd about the project and people are now signing up to be involved with composing the South Holland Symphony.  We were also treated to the Mozart’s wonderful Quintet for Clarinet  & Strings in A major, K581 and Brahms Quintet in B minor, Op 115  with Angela Malsbury - a real treat.

Come and meet the composer on Saturday 25 February 10am to 12noon at Surfleet Village Hall and  from 2pm to 4pm at Holbeach Methodist Church. Free Entry!

Don’t worry if you missed out as the London Mozart Players return in March with a String Trio performing Mozart and Beethoven pieces on Thursday 22 March in Long Sutton and Friday 23 March in Surfleet.

A wonderful new project for 2012 involving members of the local community in South Holland in Lincolnshire contributing to a piece of music for their district.

Led by Duncan Chapman, a composer, sound artist and educator based in Lincoln, a series of workshops and concerts will culminate in the ‘South Holland Symphony’ being performed by the London Mozart Players in the South Holland Centre in Spalding as part of an orchestral concert on 19 July 2012.
